Dear friends and clients,

Even though at this time (due to digital technology, cell phones and new photographers at every corner) many photography studios are struggling to stay viable, we are one of the few businesses who saw an increase in sales last year.

There are positive changes in the wind for Rose and me that we cannot divulge at this time, but here are some things we know for sure:

The existing archives of your negatives vs. your fading family heirlooms:

We now know from experience that the Silver Halide photographs of the past (paper or canvas) depend on lighting conditions and humidity for longevity.

They will last an average of only 8 to 25 years in good condition.

Unfortunately, slowly and at first imperceptibly, they start to fade and eventually lose all of their original beauty. They often turn a faded green or blue.

That is the reason we have kept all of our older negatives in a cool, dry storage facility for safekeeping and for the protection of your priceless moments in time.

Many have already taken advantage of getting reprints from our archives that date back to the 1970s. Because space has become increasingly more costly to maintain, these archives may not survive for very much longer.

The good news is that with our ultra-modern HDR (High Dynamic Range) Piezo and Giclée printing technology we can now produce new, stunningly beautiful portraits. These are rich in colour, gamut and fine detail, rivaling and surpassing your originals. Since these are made with pigment-based paints on canvas, they are also archival and rated to last for 200 years or more.

Please make stock of any portraits you deem worthy of preservation for yourself and future generations and get this done right away before it is too late. You may also purchase your files for safekeeping.

My wife Rose is a self-trained chef with a degree in hospitality.

She has a passion for fine herbs and exotic spices and loves to prepare organic, non-GMO and gluten-free dishes. Her specialties include Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine.

You may know that in the past we have been hosting a number of fine organic dinners and special events in our Fireside Room and in our Show Garden. We now offer them to you upon special request.

Feel free to contact us to arrange for your private dinner parties from 4 to 200 people (birthdays, anniversaries, fundraisers, etc.) or join us for our twice-monthly group dinners at “Club Studio.”
